Africa is a land of diverse culture which is beautifully and tastefully seen in its cuisine as well. Though Piri piri chicken and tangines have made it to the World culinary platform, there is still good scope for discovering more of African cuisine. The northern African cuisine is influenced by the spices brought by the traders, invaders and migrants. Saffron, nutmeg cinnamon etc have been introduced by the Arabs. Surprisingly, southern and eastern part of Africa relies on grains and vegetables, since cattle are regarded as wealth in Africa.
